Footwear warranty
Quality is a core uvex value. Our footwear range comes with guarantees that cannot
be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) or the New Zealand Consumer
Guarantees Act (CGA), meaning that you are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major
failure. In these circumstances, you may also be entitled to compensation for any other
reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. If it is not a major failure, you are entitled to have the
footwear repaired or replaced if the footwear fails to be of an acceptable quality.
In addition to the protection customers have under ACL or CGA, for footwear uvex also offers
a six-month manufacturer’s warranty from the date of purchase for defective manufacturing
or materials. The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover excessive wear and tear or misuse
of the footwear beyond normal or intended conditions. The manufacturer’s warranty is void
if footwear has been subjected to chemical exposure that is not specified for use, excessive
heat, exposure to cement or lime for leather or synthetic footwear, cuts, or has been used for
other applications or in environments that the footwear is not intended for.
Footwear should be returned to the place of purchase with evidence of purchase. If relying
on the manufacturer’s warranty, footwear must be returned within six months of purchase.
The footwear will be assessed by an authorised uvex representative. Uvex will replace or
issue a refund for the footwear (if replacement is not possible) if it is found not to meet the
guarantees under the ACL or CGA or uvex manufacturing standards.
NOTE: Polyurethane (PU) can be susceptible to hydrolysis (breakdown due to moisture) when
footwear is stored in hot and or humid environments. Footwear should be stored in cool and
dry conditions. Failure to store footwear with PU components in appropriate conditions can
lead to premature deterioration. Improper storage that causes hydrolysis to PU materials may
affect your ability to rely on this warranty statement.
